02/05/2019In logistics, dry cargo refers to products that, when packaged, can be transported in an open body, trunk or sider, without causing damage to the cargo. The most common dry loads produced in the industry are: wood, hardware, industrial equipment, loads packed in drums, cylinders, cardboard boxes, plastic material, rubber, aluminum, and many other products.
To carry dry cargo it is important to take into account some particularities of the vehicle, which needs to be suitable to condition the load safely. In order to make the correct use of the vehicle, it is necessary to know the tare of the truck, the tare is the load capacity of the truck without the body, deducts the weight of the equipment, and what remains is the allowed capacity of load loading of the vehicle.
Vehicles used for dry cargo transport with approximate load capacity:
- Pick-up or fiorino small vehicles carrying up to 500 kg
- HR with capacity between 1.5 and 1.8 tonnes
- VUC (Urban Vehicle of load) capacity of 3 tons of load
- 3/4 truck has the capacity for 3 or 4 tons
- Toco truck with capacity between 6 and 7 tons
- Truck Truck with capacity ranging from 10 to 14 tons, depending on the equipment on the
- Truck, its carrying capacity is higher or lower.
Mechanical horse Toco has the load capacity up to 24 tons, it can also have its embarkation capacity compromised depending on the model of the cart.
The equipment, or bodies, depending on the manufacturer or type of material used in its manufacture, compromise the load capacity of the vehicle. Very heavy equipment is not interesting, so when acquiring it is very important to research the weight of the equipment of the supplier.
In addition to the weight capacity, it is essential to know the measurements of each equipment so that the use of the linear or cubed meter to be transported is fully optimized. This care minimizes the risk of overload or weight and allows programming that does not put the transport at risk.
